Biography
Antonino Siragusa, born in 1980 in Messina, graduated in Philosophy with honors, lives between New York and his hometown where he works artistically by the shores of the Strait of Messina.
Painter, photographer, videomaker, composer, multi-instrumentalist Antonino Siragusa is a 360 degree artist.
Known to the public as a musician (with several publications distributed by Mondadori and appearances on national radio, including Radio Rai), he later began his career as a painter, exhibiting his works in an exhibition called “Images” in June 2019 in Messina and exhibiting his paintings for the second time in March 2020 in an exhibition entitled “Land & Sand” at the “Arte Cavour” art gallery.
In June 2020, his works were included in a collection curated by the renowned on line gallery, Saatchi Art, through which they reached the homes of international collectors.
In September 2020, he exhibited in Taormina at his own studio.
On March 9, 2021, the American gallery Saatchi Art named him “Artist of the Day” posting the award on major social media.
He received the national “Messina Città d’Arte” award, named after his hometown, for artistic merit.
In November 2021, his paintings were featured in the short film “Eterna Attrazione.”
On March 25, 2022, he was awarded the CIRS International Maria Celeste Celi Prize, and his painting, “BBH,” was exhibited at the Regional Museum of the City of Messina.
From April 9 to 12, 2022, he inaugurated his exhibition, “I 4 Elementi,” at the Arte Cavour gallery.
From May 6th to May 11th, 2022, his work “Make Sport Not War” was exhibited at Palazzo Zanca, the seat of the Municipality of Messina, as part of the artistic event held during the “Giro d’Italia” cycling race.
In December 2022, the traveling exhibition “Sicily” was held at the Palazzo della Cultura in Messina, in February-March 2023 at Palazzo Cagnone in Francavilla di Sicilia, and in June and July 2023 at the Palazzo dei Duchi di Santo Stefano in Taormina.
On June 13th, 2023, the artist signed a contract with the prestigious New York art gallery “Lux Contemporary” located in the heart of Manhattan, and his conceptual painting “Headphones” was exhibited alongside other works by leading contemporary and modern artists:
Banksy, Keith Haring, Damien Hirst, Takashi Murakami, and Mr. Brainwash, to name a few.
In July 2023, artist Antonino Siragusa will be included in the prestigious “Taomoda” event, presenting the preview of a solo exhibition entitled “In an Expression of the Inexpressible” at the Palazzo dei Duchi di Santo Stefano. The event will conclude with a gala evening at the Ancient Theater of Taormina.
Also in July 2023, the traveling exhibition “Sicily” will continue at the Palazzo D’Amico in Milazzo.
From August 2023 until October, the artist’s paintings were exhibited at the Grand Hotel Miramare in Taormina in a retrospective solo exhibition.
In October 2023, artist Antonino Siragusa’s solo exhibition entitled “Myths and Legends of Sicily” will take place at the Regional Library of Messina.
In November 2023, in Manhattan, he created a photographic portrait of New York writer Anthony M. Laura for the book “Shadows,” for which the author also directed the Broadway play of the same name.
On November 16, 2023, Antonino Siragusa performed as a musician at the opening of the group exhibition “Matter Over Mind” at the Gambit Works Gallery on 6th Avenue in New York.
In December 2023, Nicolò Edizioni published the multilingual art catalog “Antonino Siragusa #Anthology,” edited by Dr. Laura Faranda for the Cocco art gallery (distributed by Feltrinelli, Amazon, and Libreria Universitaria, among others).
In January 2024, the artist inaugurated his studio in the center of Messina, the Siragusa Art Gallery, located at Via Centonze 61.
In June 2024, Antonino Siragusa returned to New York to photograph Egyptian writer Maya Madkour in the heart of Manhattan to promote her book “Fearless Motivation,” published by Cherry Blossom Publishing. One of the photographs was published in Forbes Middle East at the Healthcare Leaders Summit (for which the writer was nominated). The event took place in Abu Dhabi in September 2024.
Also in June 2024, the artist traveled to Long Island, Hamptons (USA), where he took headshots for the Dowling International Academy.
In July and August 2024, two solo exhibitions of the artist were held simultaneously at the Marriott Delta Hotel in Giardini Naxos and the Grand Hotel Miramare in Taormina.
In September 2024, the book “Gli accadimenti” by Polish author Stanislaw Bardadin will be published, featuring images of seascapes painted by artist Antonino Siragusa.
Antonino Siragusa was nominated for the 2025 iPhone Photography Awards.
In November 2024, the exhibition “Le Tempeste” will be presented for the first time at the Siragusa Art Gallery in Messina.
In April 2025, the exhibition “Asian Portraits” will be inaugurated at the Siragusa Art Gallery in Messina.
In May 2025, the exhibition “Tempeste” will be revived at the Palazzo della Cultura in Santa Teresa di Riva, with a piano performance by artist Antonino Siragusa accompanied by baritone saxophonist Pierpaolo Maimone.
In September 2025, artist Antonino Siragusa will exhibit his work in the exhibition hall of the Church of San Giuseppe, located in the beautiful Piazza IX Aprile in the heart of Taormina.
In November 2025, he exhibited his paintings of the seas at Arte Padova, and his work “Emerald Storm” was also included in the official exhibition catalog.
